Sigmund Freud was one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century across any discipline. Now in the 21st century, Freudian psychoanalysis is definitely on the wane – but in this episode, I make the case that there are Freudian insights which might help us to understand and potentially resolve some of most challenging problems humanity faces. These are defined by the incessant struggles with irrationality and the unconscious logic of Eros and Thanatos – struggles which define the political world in this time, and perhaps all times.
